True Black Glass Glitter

Pictures sent in (August 2004) by Christ Hadjopoulos of Huntington, New York; of his
Pearl BLX drum set. Beautiful work Chris!

Hey Sam, It took a while but I finally got to take a few shots of my 80's
Pearl BLX kit, which I refinished with your black glass glitter
Wrap. It was a surprisingly easy and fun project and the finished
product is better than a brand new kit! Feel free to post any one or
more of the pics on your website. Now my drums look as good as they
sound. As a matter of fact, I think that should be your new
slogan "Make your drums look as good as they sound!"
Thanks again, Chris Hadjopoulos

Picture sent in (February 2005) from Stuart Martin of Sydney, Australia of his
Rogers drum set. Awesome job Stuart!

Hi Sam, I have finished my restoration of a 1977 Rogers Londoner 5 in
Black Glass Glitter. You supplied me with 13x9, 14x10, 16x16,
22x14. I decided on a 12x8 (instead of a 14x10) [and] cut the
material down with some scissors...easily done! Followed your drum
covering instructions (I had recovered several kits with absolutely no
glue or tape, but this was going to be my best effort yet). Sam,
that high bond tape is amazingly strong and sticks really well...your
personal service is second to none...Our dollar is worth about 70 cents to
a US dollar, so this was an expensive indulgence for me including
postage...but it was worth it. I have mentioned your products to
mostly all the drum shops in Sydney...so you may get some more business
from the land of Oz. Regards, Stuart Martin

Picture sent in (February 2007) by Morgan King from St. Louis, Missouri of
his Mapex drum set. Great work Morgan!
Morgan writes:
Hey Sam! Here are some pics from the drum overhaul I recently did using you True
Black Glass Glitter wraps! This was originally a wine red wrapped Mapex Mars Pro kit I purchased back in 1995. It has been through a lot over the
years (including some too-moist environments) but has remained good-sounding. I started the redo project with the idea of painting the
shells according to a custom design idea I had. I soon found that the outside birch wood layer had swollen and shrunk back and was too damaged to
sand and paint with good results. So, I began searching for wraps and found
your web site. I was torn between the Black Glass Glitter finish (for the
awesome looks) or the Black Sparkle finish (for the price). In the end, after talking to you and looking at the pictures on the website for days on
end, I went with the Glass Glitter - and I am so glad I did that! It looks
awesome in the light and sparkles brilliantly under a camera flash. I can't
wait to see my set on stage at our next show.
Installation was a snap with your well-written instructions. Along with the
wraps, I polished all of the chrome hardware and put on new drum heads. I
used Remo Ebony heads on the bottom - they look great next to the Black Glitter finish! I'll send more pics from our first show!
Thanks for helping me bring my drums back to life! Morgan King (1995 Mapex Mars Pro)

Pictures sent in (September 2006) by Peter Hopkins from Pasadena,
California of his Premier drum set. Beautiful work Peter!
Peter writes:
Hi Sam, Just thought you'd like to see how things turned out on
my very first drum wrap project. This is a 4 piece Premier APK kit from the late 90's which was finished in a
white pearl wrap. The finish was faded & badly scratched as you can imagine. Luckily the original wrap come off with
no problems, the hardest part was removing the badges but I got them in the end. The drums are now finished in the
Black Glass wrap & look awesome. I have 3 other projects stacked up in my garage so you can be sure on hearing from
me again very soon. Thanks again, Peter
We would like to feature your drums with our wrap here.
