Pearl materials start with a cultured block of plastic chips suspended in a fluid. This process is done by hand. This concoction is processed into a hardened state and cut into thin sheets. Each sheet is sandwiched between a backing (for added strength) and a clear plastic layer (besides a clear, peal off protective top) that adds a deeper appearance to the finish.
