Vintage Sparkle Drum Wraps

In the early 1930s the Ludwig family started selling a finish they called "Flakes" which loosely resembled today's sparkle wraps, but was no match for the quality of today's sparkles. The Ludwig family (WFL) later improved the quality and called them "Flashes". However, it was not until the early 1960s that what we see today came into it's own and were called "Sparkle" finishes. The sparkle finishes are all made by hand and have been done that way since the beginning.
