Photo of Jim MacConduibh's Slingerland Snare with Silver Vintage Sparkle drum wrap

Picture sent in (August 2005) by Jim MacConduibh from West Medford, Massachusetts of his work on a Slingerland marching snare.  Awesome job Jim!

Jim writes:
Hi, folks,  Here’s a photo for the Wall of Fame: Late 1970s Slingerland “TDR” marching snare drum, 15″x12″ 12 lug configuration.  These were the best sounding competition marching drums of the era, but were done in by their unreliable strainers (and metal parts) as well the much drier sound of Ludwig’s “Challenger II”. However, now they sound even lovelier as those maple shells have cured in for 30+ years!  This was recovered for a member of St. Kevin’s “Emerald Knights”  Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps (Dorchester MA) to recall the livery of their glory days in the early 1960s. While I’m not much of a fan of the silver sparkle in general, the covering is very high quality, went on easy as can be (despite my messing it up — thanks for the help on the phone, Sam!!) and I think it looks fantastic. The owner is just ready to pop with pride and lots of his fellow members are getting in line for one!  Great product and support, looking forward to doing more business with you!!!  Best wishes,
Jim MacConduibh
