Picture sent in (May 2007) by Terry Bence from Sioux Falls, South Dakota
of his Ludwig drum set. Great work & pictures Terry!
Terry writes:
Hi Sam, Here is the kit I built from various Ludwig 6-ply shells and covered in Vintage Sky Blue
Pearl. It took me about 6 months all together to complete this kit. The 26"
kick drum came from Texas, but most of the other components are local South Dakota
stuff. I really wanted to keep a vintage vibe, but also wanted to incorporate a
woofer, so I built one from a mahogany marching bass drum,
6"x26". The badges on these drums came from my old Octa-Plus kit in blue
Vistalite, which was my first real drum set. I have been drumming for 30 years,
but have never really built a kit from scratch until now. It was a learning
experience, but I felt comfortable with the wrap knowing that Jammin Sam was there for
back-up! You better believe, my next project will be covered with
your wrap! Sincerely, Terry Bence

Pictures sent in (September 2007) by John Hamman from Carbondale, Illinois
of his Ludwig set. Awesome pictures John!
John writes:
Sam, It took me just a couple of evenings to disassemble the drums, put on
the wrap, punch the holes, put the badges and hardware back on. This
was because I had used your taping method on the previous wrap I put on
back in 2003. The hardest part was getting the grommets off without
gouging the shells. Maybe you can come up with a tool that makes it
as easy to get them off as it is to put them on. The seams were no
problem at all nor was getting the heads on. I think the drums look
fantastic!...I couldn't be happier with the results. John Hamman
We would like to feature your drums with our wrap here.
