Picture sent in (October 2008) by Kevin Anderson from Sacred Heart, Minnesota of his Ludwig drum set.  Looking good Kevin!

Billy writes:
Here are some photos of my early 70’s Ludwig Standard set with your vintage sky blue pearl wrap.  I bought these drums new back in about 1972 in Ruby Strata. It was a great looking wrap but over the years it cracked and faded as I hauled the drums around without cases, and sometimes nested inside each other—not using bottom tom heads or the front bass drum head. They were looking pretty rough and I was considering selling them just to free up some space in the house and after getting a nice set of Pearl Session Customs in vintage fade. I became interested in re-wrapping the drums about a year ago and started doing a bit of internet research, looking at various drum supply websites. I came across your website this past summer and really got interested in your precut wrap with the bonding adhesives. After agonizing over the color, I settled on the vintage sky blue pearl and am extremely pleased with the final result.
After removing the old Ruby Strata wrap, cleaning off the glue which held it on, doing a bit of wood filler and sanding, and cleaning the dirty hardware, it was time to order the wrap. I talked with your phone representative and was able to quickly and easily order just what I needed to do the job. In several days, the wrap arrived and I started with the snare drum. It was not difficult at all. Then, it was the mounted toms’ turn, then the floor tom, and finally the bass drum and hoop inlays. Putting on the wrap was really the easy part. I did not replace the original Ludwig Standard badges, as they were kind of rough looking. Getting the drums stripped and cleaned, and the hardware polished took quite a bit of time and effort, but it was well worth it. I’m not planning to sell the set, and may use it on stage again if or when the opportunity presents itself—but right now I’m playing bass in a 3-piece variety band so nothing’s for sure.  Thank you for providing such a good product at a great price and for the helpful and professional service.  Sincerely, Kevin Anderson

We would like to feature your drums with our wrap here.
