White Pearl Special

(directional triangular chip pattern)

(formerly called "white onyx")

(7"x 4.5" scan of actual finish)

This color and pattern combination was first sold by "Drum Workshop" in mid 2000s.  This finish is 40% thinner than our typical pearls but has the same quality appearance.  Because it is thinner and we have it in great quantities, we offer this wrap at a significant discount.  Actually, our price for this wrap similar to what the price would have been 25 years ago!  Don't miss out on this great discount!

White pearl finishes have been very popular for a long time.  To our knowledge, white pearl wrap first appeared in Ludwig's 1937 catalog, which other drum companies later made available (Slingerland, Gretsch, etc.).  The product was greatly refined in the 1950s, which then on became extremely popular, especially on Slingerland and Gretsch drums, and is still very popular today.

About 1980, a smaller pattern white pearl became popular, which is still sold today.  Our vintage white pearl is a larger pattern pearl, that resembles the vintage pattern of the 1950s thru the 1970s, and is extremely popular with our customers.

Vintage Marine Pearl
(Also referred to as "White Marine Pearl")

In the Ludwig Drum Companies' 1957 catalog, the company changed from a large random pattern pearl (shown in middle) to a directional pattern (pictured above), which became a very popular (actually manufactured with a light blue tint – what the term "marine" refers to).  We are proud to bring back this special vintage finish.

Working with the original US manufacturer that supplied the drum companies, we have the later 2 wraps made 30 mil (30/1000) thick to make the finishes more durable and longer lasting (other wraps sold today are usually between 20-26 mil.).  Also, all the above finishes come with a clear peel-off protective top to protect them during application.

We are proud to offer these old friends, which to our knowledge, are only available through us.   If you want to get our vintage white and marine pearl wraps (the best available), just give us a call.
