The terms “black pearl” or “black diamond pearl”, basically refer to similar style wraps- a dark, small chip pattern. These finishes has been used by drum manufactures from the early 1980’s, and any differences, consisted of a slight color change. However, because of unfortunate factory problems (just after 2010), this wrap could no longer be reproduced. So we, working with the factory, came up with a similar, but better black pearl: more vintage looking, a close replacement to the prior, and maintains the original chip pattern. It is a great match for those trying to match this era of black pearl, or just like the effect of the small chip pattern.
Our material is made about 26 mil thick (26/1000 of an inch), which makes the finish more durable (longer lasting), and better looking (no ripple effect). This finish is only available through us. If you would like a piece of history, just give us a call. Note: We do have some pieces of the original wrap available. Call for info.
