About 1.5 years ago I picked up a batch of drum shells for $40. Among the batch of 5 shells were two Rogers toms; a 13 x 9 rack tom and a 16 x 16 floor tom. Both of these shells were in pretty bad shape, but worthy of restoring. Not knowing much about Rogers at that time, I took to the Internet to learn all I could about the drum maker. Well, I fell into the proverbial rabbit hole and fell in love with Rogers drums. I was amazed at their innovative Swivomatic designs and features and committed myself to bringing these two toms back to life.
My quest for hardware began shortly after my research was completed. After almost a year of searching, I acquired all the hardware and the bass drum I needed to complete the project. I worked on this on and off for 6 months before ordering a set of Dark Red Sparkle wraps from Jammin Sam. The color of this wrap so closely mirrored the original Rogers Sparkling Red Pearl, which I thought would nicely contrast with the chrome hardware. My vision was refurbishing this kit to shine like a ’57 Chevy Bel Air.
Just recently I finished the wraps and the hardware installation and she is back in action again. A big thank you goes out to the folks at Jammin Sam for their expertise in getting these wraps ordered and their guidance during the installation process. I would definitely order from Jammin Sam again!
