Onyx pearl drum wraps were first introduced in the early 1960s by the Rogers’ drum company. The Slingerland drum company offered this color in the late 1960s, calling it “Gray Agate Pearl”. Even though Slingerland sold more drum with these finishes, these colors are more commonly associated with the Rogers’ line. (See History of Drum Wrap/Pearl Wrap History) We have these old favorites made for us at the same factory that supplied Rogers’ and Slingerland. This material is made 30 mil thick (30/1000 of an inch), which makes it very durable and long lasting. Give us a call if you would like to get this incredibly 3-D looking finish for your drums.
