Gregg writes:
This is a picture of an old Ludwig snare that had been completely abused, and I mean abused. I bought it 23 years ago at a flea market in St. Charles, IL. The shell had been drilled, and I’m pretty sure the lug pattern was never anything Ludwig ever did. I sold the original 30’s style throw off on eBay. Anyway I salvaged the shell, lugs and brass hoops to come up with this finished product using your wrap [ vintage white pearl drum wrap ] and new throw off and butt plate. I’ve still got some detail work to do (new screws, etc.), but it sounds as good as it looks and the wrap was really easy to apply. I’m sure I’ll be working with you again in the future.
